Walking pad: a beginner's guide

FORMA Team · 4 min read

A walking pad turns time you'd spend sitting into time you spend moving. Here's how to get started without overdoing it.

Start slow

Begin at 2–3 km/h while you get used to walking and doing something else at the same time. Most people settle at 3–4 km/h for working and 4–5 km/h when they're only walking.

Build up gradually

Start with 20–30 minutes a day and add ten minutes a week. Split it into short blocks if you prefer — two 20-minute walks are easier to fit in than one long one.

Set it up properly

Place the pad on a rubber floor tile, keep the remote within reach and wear proper trainers. If you walk at a desk, raise the screen to eye level so you don't look down.

These are general training tips. If you're new to exercise or have a health condition, check with your doctor first. Product details are on each product page.
